A collaboration between Swansea University and Swansea Print Workshop to celebrate the South Wales Miner’s Library 50th anniversary. Featuring work by Hilary Powell, produced by the Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru.
This amazing exhibition is currently on display in our Canterbury Lofts venue. The work is absolutely incredible and is well worth coming to see in person!
Paul Joyner - The Cwtch
In the Cwtch Gallery this month we have work by Paul Joyner.
"These paintings are an artist’s response to two wars in our time: Ukraine and Gaza. For some reason which I cannot explain, there are many more Ukrainian inspired images and icons than Gaza. Both conflicts are tragic and devastating for the people who live or have lived there.
All the paintings are free for you to take. If you would like one or more, please take your choice straight from the wall and write your name and village or town on the white board. This will give us an idea where the pictures have found homes. In collecting your choice and taking it home you are sharing in the response to a crisis beyond words.”

International Call for Art inspired by Folklore, Fairy Tales, Myths & Legends
Studio 40 is organising an International Exhibition which will be held in their Queen Street Gallery venue in May 2025. We are looking for original artwork inspired by the cultures of the world!
Although customs and traditions differ in all societies, many of the stories tell a similar tale, albeit with slightly different characters......usually involving good and evil, and all civilizations have richly imaginative narratives of myths, legends, of magical beings, of deities, of monsters, and of thousands of tales passed down the centuries........
Let your imagination soar, think back to your favourite fairy story, or the one that scared you the most…. of lessons learnt via a cautionary tale! Be creative and conjure up some magical work. We will await your submissions! Please do not complete the application form without first reading the Terms and Conditions.
